Chrome update…
Google has released the final security update for Chrome 140, ahead of the Chrome 141 launch in early October. This patch addresses three high-risk vulnerabilities in the V8 JavaScript engine: a side-channel information leak (CVE-2025-10890) and two integer overflows (CVE-2025-10891, CVE-2025-10892). One was reported by an external researcher, while the others were identified using Google’s Gemini-based AI tool, Big Sleep. Google confirmed that none of these flaws have been exploited in real-world attacks.
The updated version (140.0.7339.207/208) is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, with automatic updates enabled by default. Users in Fresno, CA, like elsewhere, are encouraged to ensure their browsers are updated promptly to avoid potential security risks. This is especially important for businesses and individuals who rely heavily on Chrome for daily work, as vulnerabilities could expose sensitive information if left unpatched.
Other Chromium-based browsers—including Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Vivaldi—will also be updating shortly. Meanwhile, Opera, still based on Chromium 138, has applied some backported fixes but remains behind on security updates, meaning Fresno users who prefer Opera should exercise extra caution.
